gangsasectionofatraditionalBalinesegroup.Thisinstrumenthas
14keyswhichcoverarangeofalmost3octaves.

ThemetalUgalkeyswerebowedusingastandardcellobow,verti-
callyacrossthethinedgeofthemetal.Insteadofaconventional
microphone,aTranceAudioTranceInducercontactmicwasused.This
givesthesoundanincrediblydetailed,surgicalscrapingquality.


TheSampledInstrument

Theinstrumentwassampledat44.1kHz,24bit,inmono.Thereare
?veroundrobinsofboththemainbowedsound,and?veroundrobins
ofthekey-off(release)ringingoftheinstrumentforatotalof
140samples.Thesamplesareloopedwithabowchangeincludedin
theloop,foranaturalsoundingsustain.
